refind tabs keeps everything on your device and sends nothing anywhere. No accounts, no servers, no tracking, no analytics.
The short version: the extension reads your open tabs and saves the ones you close, entirely inside your own browser. That data never leaves your device, and no one else, including us, can see it.
To do its job, refind tabs reads two kinds of information from your browser:
Nowhere. Everything is stored on your own machine using your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). The extension makes no network requests, sends no data to any server, and has no backend to send it to.
The extension requests exactly two permissions, and uses each only for the feature it enables:
tabs: to read the URL and title of your tabs, which is how they get listed, grouped, closed, sorted, and reopened.storage: to save your archived tabs and settings locally on your device.It requests no access to the content of the pages you visit, and no access to any specific websites.
Because everything lives in your browser, you are always in control of it. Removing the extension clears its stored data.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. If a future version of the extension ever changes how data is handled, that change will be disclosed here and in the extension before it takes effect.
